is Public Relations Manager at the Institute of Public Affairs. He has travelled in, and reported extensively on, France's overseas territories. His article is based on an article published by the I.P.A. Review.

is a former member of the Faculty of Politics and Economics at Monash University, and has for many years been a commentator on Australian social and political affairs and foreign policy.
